Organic vs inorganic dyes and permanent makeup

Gray eyebrows, orange eyebrows over time are the nightmare of every conscientious permanent makeup artist, and knowledge of colors is of essential importance for permanent works.

Pigments are divided into organic and inorganic , and if the mixture for micropigmentation is of a combined composition, we call it a hybrid .

Let's get to know each other a little. In fact, let's go deeper and understand why some pigments change to unwanted tones.

Inorganic dyes

They come from nature, are extracted with ore, then go through processing, calcination to end up with a pure, intense powder.

These are Iron Oxides, i.e. iron oxides, i.e. mineral colors, enter the composition of permanent make-up pigments in the EU in their purest form.

Therefore, in order for a pigment to be placed on the EU market, it must be as clean as a tear. In fact, cleaner.

Iron Oxide

You can recognize Iron Oxides on the declaration by the marked CI number:

CI: 77492 Iron Oxide - yellow

CI: 77491 Iron Oxide - red

CI: 77499 Iron Oxide - black

They are favored in all industries for their durability over time.

The combination of inorganic black, yellow and red, but also green to balance the red - gives the most persistent shades that have good covering power.

Completely natural tones when applied, but also beautiful after healing.

Eyebrows must be refreshed in a year or two, otherwise they disappear from the skin.

Regular refreshes for a year are recommended.

Our offer includes Doreme Perfect Brows , stable and pure composition, approved by a German laboratory.

Titanium dioxide CI 77491 (TiO2) – white pigment

It is the most common  used in pharmacy, tablets, powder, but also a protective factor for the body.

It is also used in food every day.

It has very good covering power. Also, it extends the duration of other colors because it stays on for a very long time.

If titanium white is in the lip color, it will give opaque shades but also brighter tones.

It is not desirable in eyebrow dyes, or it should be very little, and lately it has been used in traces.

With laser removal, we will turn TiO2 into a dark, almost black shade (then when the eyebrows darken, instead of lightening). In this case, use solutions to remove the unwanted tattoo.

CI:77266 Carbon Black

CI:77266 Carbon Black (carbon black - obtained by special processing of petroleum) - favorite among artists due to the ease of introduction into the skin itself, and the reason is also the small molecular size and good covering power.

It is used primarily in tattoos on the body.

It increases the intensity and longevity of permanent makeup colors.

Side effects of excessive Carbon black content are gray and cold eyebrows over time.

So, when all other colors disappear from the leather - Carbon black will remain - forever.

Too frequent treatments, i.e. by repetition, refreshes, black accumulates, with which the skin is eventually oversaturated.

Laser removal is preferable if changes have occurred.

Of course, Carbon black in small percentages and larger ones are not the same.

And what are organic colors?

Unfortunately, there is nothing organic about them. They were obtained in the laboratory synthetically and with their invention they marked a new era in civilization, with more vivid and bright colors.

And the world became beautiful.

They are transparent and perfect for blending on the lips.

Are they all for use in our pigments?

Of course not.

The EU narrowed the list and removed Yellow 14, Red 269 and many others, and you can find the annex at the link: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=CELEX:32020R2081&from =EN

How to recognize all this?

Rely on the declaration. Read, but also get informed. We need beautiful and well-groomed women, and with the right selection you will never use a laser.

And they don't differ only in tonality. Even the way of production. Some are more comfortable, more viscous, some are liquid, depending on the manufacturer.

Back to our wonderful mixes:

Biotek for lips has hybrids, in their laboratory they combine the transparency and bright shades of organic synthetic colors, but also the complete stability of Iron Oxide.

These are creamy shades that fully nourish the lips and make them sensual, but also registered as safe for your clients. In other respects, they are a luxury for over 30 years.

As for the eyebrows, Biotek only uses Iron Oxide because they remain unchanged over time.

For a healthy, beautiful and well-groomed woman, because now knowledge is more accessible than ever.
